Fetish UK representative Expectations

The following expectations outline the general responsibilities associated with holding a Fetish UK title.

1. Event Attendance and Community Engagement

Fetish UK Representative is expected to maintain an active presence within the UK fetish community throughout their title year.

Fetish UK Representative is expected to:

  • Regularly attend fetish events within the UK, with a recommended average of at least one event per month. Wherever possible, attendance should include a variety of events rather than the same event each month.

  • Make reasonable efforts to attend events across all four nations of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) during their title year.

  • Attend at least one major international fetish event during their title year, where reasonably possible. Examples may include:

    • Darklands

    • Folsom Europe

    • Maspalomas Fetish Pride

    • Dublin Leather Weekend

  • Attend as many UK fetish title elections as reasonably possible in order to support the wider title community.

  • Attend at least one UK Pride event during their title year. Attendance at larger Pride events, such as those in Manchester, London, Brighton, or UK Pride is encouraged where feasible.

  • Support and promote community-led events, fundraisers, and projects where appropriate.

2. Representation and Visibility

Fetish UK Representative is expected to promote positive values within the community.

Fetish UK Representative is expected to:

  • Promote and uphold the values of consent, respect, inclusion, and community responsibility in all public appearances.

  • Maintain a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive presence when representing Fetish UK.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to participate in media appearances, interviews, photography, or promotional opportunities where appropriate.

  • Support positive representation of fetish culture and the UK fetish community.

3. Digital Presence and Communication

Fetish UK Representative is expected to maintain visibility within the community through responsible use of digital platforms.

Fetish UK Representative is expected to:

  • Maintain a consistent and visible digital presence throughout their title year.

  • Use social media and digital platforms to promote events, community projects, and positive messaging where appropriate.

  • Engage with the community respectfully and professionally online.

4. Professional Conduct and Compliance

Fetish UK Representative is expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the standards established by Fetish UK.

Fetish UK Representative must:

  • Abide fully by the Fetish UK Code of Conduct at all times during their title year.

  • Represent Fetish UK in a respectful and professional manner at events and in public settings.

  • Seek guidance from Fetish UK organisers when uncertain about expectations or responsibilities.

5. Title Exclusivity

Holding the Fetish UK title requires commitment.

Fetish UK Representative must:

  • Not apply for or compete for any additional titles, either within the United Kingdom or internationally, during their title year.

  • Exceptions may be considered where the Fetish UK representative’s year is nearing completion; however, prior discussion and approval must be sought from the Fetish UK Producer before submitting any application.

6. Flexibility and Reasonable Expectations

Fetish UK recognises that the Fetish UK Representative may have personal, professional, or financial commitments.

  • All expectations are intended to be reasonable and achievable, and Fetish UK will work collaboratively with the Fetish UK representative to support their success.

  • Where attendance or participation is not possible due to financial, health, or personal reasons, Fetish UK representative is encouraged to communicate with Fetish UK as early as possible.

  • The Fetish UK team is committed to supporting both current and former Fetish UK representatives to the best of our ability. We aim to provide practical guidance, offer advice when requested, assist with networking opportunities, and help foster ongoing connections within the wider community. Our goal is to ensure that representatives feel valued, supported, and able to maintain positive engagement beyond their formal roles.
