Code of Conduct for Fetish UK represensative

Fetish UK Representative = Current holder of the Fetish UK title

Fetish UK = The organization that produces and maintains the Fetish UK election and affiliated events

Fetish UK Representative is expected to act as ambassadors for the UK Fetish community. The following Code of Conduct outlines the standards expected throughout their title year and the following successive years after their step down.


1. Professional Conduct and Representation

Fetish UK Representative must conduct themselves in a manner that positively represents Fetish UK and the wider fetish community.

Fetish UK Representative agree to:

  • Avoid public intoxication through excessive use of alcohol or drugs whilst representing the title.

  • Refrain from using the title to generate personal profit, except where funds are raised specifically to support reasonable travel or official title-related activities.

  • Not use the title to promote pornographic content.

  • Not appear in pornographic or explicit media whilst wearing the Fetish UK sash.

  • Not enter dark rooms whilst wearing the Fetish UK sash.

  • Not engage in sexual activity at events whilst wearing the Fetish UK sash.

  • Not wear clothing, symbols, or insignia associated with hate groups, including but not limited to Nazi imagery or Iron Cross symbolism.

2. Respect, Safety, and Community Standards

Fetish UK maintains a zero-tolerance approach to harassment, discrimination, and unsafe conduct.

Fetish UK Representative must:

  • Uphold a zero-harassment policy, including refraining from harassment, bullying, threatening behaviour, stalking, or unwanted sexual attention.

  • Uphold a zero-discrimination policy, treating all individuals with respect and dignity regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, body size, or other protected characteristics.

  • Maintain and practice the principles of Risk-Aware Consensual Kink (RACK) and Safe, Sane, and Consensual (SSC) at all times.

3. Online and Social Media Conduct

Fetish UK Representative represents Fetish UK both in person and online.

Fetish UK Representative agrees to:

  • Use social media responsibly and respectfully whilst holding the title.

  • Not misuse their position to incite harassment or encourage targeting of individuals or groups.

  • Refrain from posting or sharing material that is defamatory, discriminatory, inflammatory, or otherwise harmful to individuals or the community.

  • Follow platform community standards and applicable laws when posting online content.

4. compliance with uk law

Fetish UK Representative must comply with applicable laws of the United Kingdom at all times, whether at events, in public, or online.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Complying with all applicable laws relating to public behaviour, public decency, and licensed venues.

  • Following all applicable laws relating to alcohol consumption, drug use, and intoxication.

  • Respecting all applicable laws relating to harassment, stalking, hate speech, and discrimination, including those protected under the Equality Act 2010.

  • Complying with all applicable laws governing indecent images, obscene material, and pornographic content.

  • Respecting data protection and privacy laws, including not sharing private or identifying information about individuals without their consent.

  • Following safeguarding and consent laws, including those relating to sexual consent, capacity, and personal safety.

Fetish UK Representative is personally responsible for understanding and complying with UK law. Fetish UK reserves the right to take disciplinary action if the conduct of the Fetish UK Representative brings Fetish UK into legal risk or reputational harm.

5. breaching the code of conduct

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in:

  • Informal warning.

  • Formal warning.

  • Being stripped of the Fetish UK title.

  • Appropriate steps being taken to safe guard the UK fetish community. (Passing on information to event organizers and venues).

  • In extreme circumstances, referral to law enforcement where appropriate.

If the Fetish UK Representative is stripped of their title during their title year, they must promptly return the Fetish UK sash and any other Fetish UK branded materials upon request, as well ceasing use of the Fetish UK title on all of their social media accounts.

6. post step down expectations

Former Fetish UK Representatives continue to be valued members of the Fetish UK community and will still receive support from Fetish UK where ever possible after their title year. Although their role changes after stepping down, they are still expected to uphold certain standards.

Upon stepping down or completing their title year, former Fetish UK Representatives may continue to refer to themselves using their former title in an accurate and respectful manner, provided they do not present themselves as the current title holder or imply ongoing official representation.

Former Fetish UK Representatives are expected to continue conducting themselves in a manner that does not bring Fetish UK or the wider fetish community into disrepute. Fetish UK reserves the right, in exceptional circumstances, to revoke formal recognition of a former Fetish UK Representative where conduct after stepping down causes significant reputational harm to the UK fetish community, violates UK law, or breaches the principles outlined in this Code of Conduct.
